Most fairytales end with a wedding and a happily-ever-after--but this is no fairytale. The updated and official translation of
Lady Maximilian is the daughter of the powerful Duke Croyso, but she is rarely allowed outside her familys sprawling castle for fear that her stutter will tarnish their noble name. When she is forced to marry Sir Riftan, a lowborn knight caught in one of her fathers schemes, Maxi doesnt dare hope for happiness, let alone love. Her stumbling communication and his gruff manner sour their relationship before it can begin, and Riftan leaves without a word the morning after their vows are exchanged.
Now, three years after their disastrous wedding night, Riftan has returned as a war hero. To Maxis surprise, despite rumors that he was offered marriage to Princess Agnes, a beautiful and renowned sorceress, Riftan still wants Maxi for his wife. And when he comes to claim her, his longing becomes a desire that bewilders Maxi, even as she is overcome by the scorching heat that Riftans presence ignites within her. As she learns to navigate the intricacies of her new life, Maxi will find herself and her courage, and discover that she is anything but powerless.
This volume collects chapters 1-76 of the original webnovel by Suji Kim. -
The million-copy Korean bestseller read by BTS''s Jungkook on Bon Voyage, the hit reality TV show following K-pop sensation BTS!
Don''t be kind to those who aren''t kind to you.
Remember that no one lives a perfect life.
Don''t be swayed by what others say.
Don''t try too hard to get along with everyone.
As soon as Kim Suhyun graduated into the adult world, she faced a harsh reality. Everywhere she looked people stepped on each other to get ahead, obsessed over money, and judged others based on the unrealistic standards they saw on social media. It seemed impossible not to compare herself to others and feel that she was ever good enough.
With words of comfort and charming illustrations throughout, Kim Suhyun will inspire you on your own journey of self-love, self-acceptance and self-compassion. Blending self-help and memoir, I Decided to Live as Me will help you free yourself from the pressures of living up to other people''s expectations and focus on what truly matters: living not for anyone else, but for yourself. -

Soon Inji''s own dark past will begin to unravel - as well as the sinister underbelly of the NM''s management team, who will stop at nothing to preserve their reputation - and that of their clients. -

I'M WAITING FOR YOU (AND OTHER STORIES)
BO-YOUNG, KIM

"Her fiction is a breath-taking piece of a cinematic art itself. Reminiscent of the world we experienced in Matrix, Inception, and Dark City, still it leads us to this entirely original structure, which is a ground-breaking, mystic literary and cinematic experience. Indeed, powerful and graceful."--Bong Joon-ho, Oscar-winning director of ParasiteIn this mind-expanding work of speculative fiction, available in English for the first time, one of South Korea''s most treasured writers explores the driving forces of humanity--love, hope, creation, destruction, and the very meaning of existence--in two pairs of thematically interconnected stories.
Two worlds, four stories, infinite possibilities In "I''m Waiting for You" and "On My Way," an engaged couple coordinate their separate missions to distant corners of the galaxy to ensure--through relativity--they can arrive back on Earth simultaneously to make it down the aisle. But small incidents wreak havoc on space and time, driving their wedding date further away. As centuries on Earth pass and the land and climate change, one thing is constant: the desire of the lovers to be together. In two separate yet linked stories, Kim Bo-Young cleverly demonstrate the idea love that is timeless and hope springs eternal, despite seemingly insurmountable challenges and the deepest despair. In "The Prophet of Corruption" and "That One Life," humanity is viewed through the eyes of its creators: godlike beings for which everything on Earth--from the richest woman to a speck of dirt--is an extension of their will. When one of the creations questions the righteousness of this arrangement, it is deemed a perversion--a disease--that must be excised and cured. Yet the Prophet Naban, whose "child" is rebelling, isn''t sure the rebellion is bad. What if that which is considered criminal is instead the natural order--and those who condemn it corrupt? Exploring the dichotomy between the philosophical and the corporeal, Kim ponders the fate of free-will, as she considers the most basic of questions: who am I? -

In 1955, a Black family passes for white and moves to a "Whites Only" town in the suburbs. Caught between two worlds, a teen boy puts his family at risk as he uncovers racist secrets about his suburb. A new social justice thriller from the acclaimed author of
Calvin knows how to pass for white. He''s done it plenty of times before. For his friends in Chicago, when they wanted food but weren''t allowed in a restaurant. For work, when he and his dad would travel for the Green Book.
This is different.
After a tragedy in Chicago forces the family to flee, they resettle in an idyllic all-white suburban town in search of a better life. Calvin''s father wants everyone to embrace their new white lifestyles, but it''s easier said than done. Hiding your true self is exhausting -- which leads Calvin across town where he can make friends who know all of him...and spend more time with his new crush, Lily. But when Calvin starts unraveling dark secrets about the white town and its inhabitants, passing starts to feel even more suffocating--and dangerous--than he could have imagined.
Expertly weaving together real historical events with important reflections on being Black in America, acclaimed author Kim Johnson powerfully connects readers to the experience of being forced to live a life-threatening lie or embrace an equally deadly truth. -
